Once there was a group of West Virginia folks who just loved getting together every so often to drive their Jeeps out in the sticks. However, these folks had a dream – that one day they could encourage OHV ownership and get more people out on the beautiful trails around the Mountain State.

That’s why they founded the West Virginia Jeep Club in 2003. Since then, this non-profit organization has worked to safely promote, preserve and protect the sport of off-road driving. The members of the club are all advocates for social, educational, and family recreational opportunities for anybody who is interested in the sport. Whether you are already a member of a club or you’re looking for a place where you can find other like-minded enthusiasts, West Virginia Jeep Club has it covered. While located in West Virginia, people have come to the club from all over. Currently, the club has members from Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and even the great state of Texas, just to name a few.

We have members that are associated with a range of other organizations as well. These include Tread Lightly, SFWDA, BRC, NOHVCC, WVOHVC, AMA, WVAR, KARC and WV4WDA The West Virginia Jeep Club also helped start the WVOHVC(West Virginia Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition) and the WV4WDA(West Virginia 4 Wheel Drive Association).

A public trail ride that the West Virginia Jeep Club hosted at one of their favorite trails called “Mexico”. It is one of their favorites, because it puts a smile on every type and level of off-road experience.

Join Us for a Ride

Anybody is welcome to join the West Virginia Jeep Club, you don’t even have to own a Jeep! Current members ride in all brands from Toyota and Lexus to homemade rock bouncers! If you’d like to see what the club is all about, the West Virginia Jeep Club hosts an official event or trail ride about once a month. Additionally, you’ll often find club members hosting trail rides throughout the week, making it easy to find a chance to join a ride.

President, Vince Lucas makes his way through a trail system called “Ivy” as members of the West Virginia Jeep Club help spot him over the obstacle.

These rides are typically novice-friendly, so there’s no need to worry if you’re a beginner! Additionally, rides typically take place on backcountry trails and in private off-road parks. The trails range from easy to advanced in difficulty, so everybody can enjoy themselves regardless of their level of experience whether they’re a first-timer or an extreme rock bouncer!

Hear From Our Members

Shirley Lycan

“As a single woman, widow, I like the family-friendly atmosphere and the help-your-fellow Jeepers attitude of the club. Even though I feel quite capable of taking care of myself, on a trail or at a gathering it is reassuring to know the others have your back.”

Crystal Waldron

“As a new person to doing Jeep trails and such, I find the WV Jeep Club the perfect club to be in. Everyone treats you like family and are there 24/7 no matter what. We do awesome rides and have many events that are fun and helpful. They treat everyone the same. I knew nothing and I have already learned so much. I was so uncomfortable, and I was afraid people would laugh at my Jeep because it’s not jacked up and all flashy like most. But everyone in the club loves all Jeeps no matter what and they have built my confidence up so much. This club to me is the best.”

WV Capitol Off-road Invasion Ride where off-road enthusiasts gather at the state capitol and then hit the trails to show their support of Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) use in the state.

Events and More

In addition to the club’s regular rides, the West Virginia Club also takes part in many annual rides and special events. These include the West Virginia State Capitol Complex Off-Road Invasion; the Christmas and Veteran’s Day Parade in Charleston, WV; the New River Gorge Bridge Benefit Ride; the Greet the Sun Trail Ride held to welcome the spring; the Ride to Remember, which is a tribute to fallen members of the off-roading community; the Jeep Nights parking lot party; the West Virginia Jeep Fest; the Glockner Jeep Jam; and the Ohio Jeep Fest. We also hold regular trail cutting and work parties, which help to keep our trails in the best possible condition.

Visit our Facebook Event Page to see past events. Join our club to be part of our upcoming events.

Our Charity Work

In addition to events, the West Virginia Jeep Club also does charity work throughout the year. All of its major events are in some way in support of charitable endeavors. Additionally, when local Jeep enthusiasts are in need, the club will set up rides to help them, with 100% of the ride donations and proceeds going to the individual. Organizations the West Virginia Jeep Club has helped include 4 Wheel to Heal, which serves wounded and disabled veterans; Mission 22, an organization aimed at preventing veteran suicide; local Ronald McDonald Houses; the West Virginia Salvation Army; the West Virginia Boys & Girl’s Club; and Lily’s Place, which provides medical care to infants suffering from NAS.

If you love Jeeps and you’re looking for a place where you can get out and enjoy the great outdoors of West Virginia, no matter what you ride or what your experience may be, then feel free to contact the members of West Virginia Jeep Club! You can find them on their Facebook page, on Instagram @west_virginia_jeep_club, on Youtube, or even at the group’s forum.

Charity convoy and trail ride with our friends at Glory Off Road who put on the “One Lap of Giving”. It was only fitting to stop under the New River Gorge Bridge for some raffles and a cook-out. Most importantly we were able to raise over $1,300 for 4 Wheel 2 Heal who’s mission is to take wounded and disabled Veterans out for trail therapy.
Members attending a ride hosted by Southern WV Jeepers (SWVJ17) to support the Raleigh County Humane Society. Some Wild Horses stopped by to partake in all the fun.

I sold my Jeep and have a stainless steel tire ring for the spare with a disc depicting the Old Mountaineer, his dog, rifle, and moonshine. It is my original art work and none like it in the state! Would like to sell the wheel cover and ring. Could in post a pic with you all?
