What is The Jeep Blessing?
The Jeep Blessing is an annual event held in Mesick, Michigan, that brings together Jeep enthusiasts from all over the country. Started in 2001, it is a unique gathering of people who share a love for Jeeps and Jesus. Some of the events at The Jeep Blessing include a Christian music concert, a church service blessing of the Jeeps, a Jeep show and shine contest to show off your Jeep before it gets dirty, a raffle drawing, vendors, and a swap meet. Over the years, the event has grown so large that several obstacle courses of varying skill levels have been built, along with a mud pit for those who want to get dirty.
Duck Run Event
The Duck Run is a separate event closely associated with The Jeep Blessing, which extends its help and support. During the Duck Run, participants embark on a fun filled adventure by visiting 22 local businesses or stops in the vicinity. The aim is to collect rubber ducks or capture memorable photos with duck signs at each location. The significance of the number 22 stems from this year’s Duck Run initiative, where the event was organized to raise funds for 22 2 None—an organization dedicated to supporting veterans. By aligning with the organization’s name, the Duck Run symbolizes the collective effort to assist and honor those who have served our country.

How The Jeep Blessing Has Grown Over the Years
In its early years, The Jeep Blessing drew only a handful of Jeeps to the small town of Boon, Michigan. But word soon spread about the unique combination of off-road adventure and spiritual fellowship, and the event quickly grew in popularity. By its third year, The Jeep Blessing had over 300 Jeeps in attendance and was featured in JP Magazine.
As the event grew, it became too large for the small town of Boon, and the decision was made to move The Jeep Blessing to Mesick, Michigan. The Ellens generously opened up their property to the event, and over the years, the property has been transformed into an off-road course with four challenging courses and a mud pit.
In addition to the off-road adventure, The Jeep Blessing features vendors, a kids area, and even special appearances by Chrysler Concept Vehicles, a Monster Truck, and a Monster Bus. And the event has always been about giving back. From the second year of the event, The Jeep Blessing has sold shirts and donated the proceeds to charity. The event’s main charity is Life Resources, but over the years, many other non-profits have benefited from the event’s donations.
Making a Difference
The Jeep Blessing is run entirely by volunteers, and each area of the event is staffed and run by different Jeep groups from across the state. The event has grown so large that it now donates a portion of its proceeds to multiple non-profits chosen by each area. These non-profits have included the Cadillac Senior Center, Down Syndrome of Northwest Michigan, ALS organizations, Hospice of Michigan, Bridge Builders, Kids Basket Project, Project Christmas, Boy Scout troops, Girl Scout troops, Vets Serving Vets, the Maji Project, and many more. This year 22 2 None a local organization that helps veterans was chosen.
