Hwy 41 Toy Convoy & Show – Christmas Toys for Kids

The 23rd Highway 41 Toy Convoy & Show will roll Sunday November 1st rain or shine inviting all vehicles large and small.  This year we have some huge changes.  First we have new sponsors:

Line Up at 10 am

Lineup is still at Raiders Academy in Manchester @ 865 McMinnville Hwy at 10 am and we roll at noon an hour early, with a police escort, rain or shine. “Future weather prediction shows 63 degrees and party sunny so we are expecting a yuge turn out,” stated Katy Ishee organizer of the convoy. “Everyone is excited about the new venue.”

The route is new this year and will be more of a scenic route than in years past. The convoy will leave the school and take Hwy 55 to Highway 41 and turn north at the main light in Manchester. We will travel out to Beech Grove with a police escort and turn west on Hwy 64 and down into Wartrace. . Folks along the route are encouraged to come out and bring their flags and show your support of the toy convoy. if you cannot join us.

 

Your Invited

Everyone is invited, as long as your vehicle can go 50 MPH safely. We expect everything from semis, running bobtail, hot rods, motorcycles, rat rods. trucks and jeeps and family cars.  Everyone is asked to please a bring a new unwrapped toy or two  to help brighten Christmas for the area kids and please fly the American flag to salute our military. Admission is  only $10 per vehicle or $20  to show. A motorcycle, truck, car,  hot rod, rat rod, 4 x 4 and  Jeep show will follow. All entries must register at the school. No entries accepted in Wartrace.  You will also receive 10 entries for the door prize drawings that will take place thru out the day that have been donated by area small businesses.

 

Decorate Your Ride

“Feel free to decorate your ride because we will be giving a trophy for the most patriotic vehicle along with the long distance award and Young at Heart award.  Our young at heart winner over the years was 96 years young.”

 

Mayor Vickie Smith of Wartrace remarked, “We are so excited about the toy convoy coming to Wartrace.  Everyone is talking about it and we are looking forward to helping anyway we can. and so is our fire department”

 

Music Rock’n the Square

VIrgil T & the Uncle Tom Band will be rock’n the square with an Allman Brothers Tribute.  Special guest is Gillian Leverette.  She will also lead the convoy in the Star Spangled Banner and Pledge of Allegiance and perform for the crowd.

 

Food

Iron Horse Pizza, Bailey Smokes from Shelbyville and Do Dawg LO from Murfreesboro will also be there, so there will be a variety of food for you to chose if you are hungry.

Iron Horse owners, Ben Cataldo and Duane Drake  have been fans of the convoy for years. “I have always wanted to host this event, I think it is a great thing they do for the community and the kids,” stated Cataldo.”We are definitely on board being a sponsor of the convoy.  Our fire department is excited too.”

 

Places to Donate (Drop Off) Toys

If you are unable to join the convoy but would like to help the kids, toys can be dropped off at the Wartrace Fire Department on Hwy 64, Iron Horse Pizza in Wartrace, Wartrace City Hall, or at C.A.R.S  in Manchester located at 807 McArthur Street in Manchester.

The toys collected will be distributed thru the Gene Taylor/Steve Graves Christmas Foundation, Manchester Police and  Wartrace Fire Departments.
